1. How fast can the company be ready?
12 hours. Once the payment arrives in our account, we will send you draft incorporation documents for review within 4 business hours. After you confirm the documents, we will submit them to the government for registration. The certificate of incorporation will then be ready in 12 hours.
2. Do I need to be in Hong Kong to set up an offshore company?

3. I am a foreigner. Can I still set up a company in Hong Kong?
Yes. Foreigners can have full ownership (100%) of an offshore company in Hong Kong whilst being the sole director and shareholder. To start the process, we will need to have a copy of your passport and residential address proof. Residential address proof can be a personal bank statement, utility bill or a phone bill.
4. Is there any restrictions on the nationality of the director and shareholder?
The HK government welcomes people from all over the world to register a company in Hong Kong. However, the processing time may vary. We recently observe that the Government needs extra time, around 2 business days, to approve applications from the UAE, Morocco, and the Philippines.
5. What are the minimum requirements for Hong Kong company formation?
Foreigners should note that the company must have an HK registered office address and a company secretary who is a Hong Kong resident or a Hong Kong corporate.
6. Are there any restrictions on language in a Hong Kong company name?
Yes. A Hong Kong company name must either be in English letters or Chinese characters.
7. Can the last word of the English company name be “Ltd” or “LLC”?
No. Hong Kong Companies Ordinance entails the English company name must end with “Limited”. Even “Ltd’ will be considered as “Limited”.
8. Can I change the name of the company after incorporation?
Yes. We can help you to prepare the documents needed to file a name change request to Companies Registry with minimal cost. In about two weeks, the name change certificate and a new/updated Business certificate will be issued and we’ll happily forward it to you.
9. What is the minimum share capital of a Hong Kong limited company?
A Hong Kong limited company shall have at least one share, while the norm in Hong Kong is to have 10,000 shares with HK$10,000 share capital. All shares must be paid up and issued to company shareholder(s).
10. Can I change the shareholder structure of my company?
Yes. You can increase the share capital by alloting new shares to existing or new members. You can also transfer the shares to any other party any time after the company is registered. We can help you prepare the paperwork and submit it to the Inland Revenue Department. Please contact us for more details.
11. How do I maintain a Hong Kong limited company?
The company must renew its Business Registration Certificate (US$290) annually and file the Annual Return (NAR1 Form) (US$15) every year. Our team will remind you of the important dates during the year, so you can focus on developing your business.
12. What do I receive after the company formation?
After the company is registered, you will receive digital copies of (1) Certificate of Incorporation (2) Business Registration Certificate (3) Incorporation form NNC1 (4) Articles of Association.
13. How do I open a bank account?
You need to present the bank these documents: (1)Certificate of Incorporation (2)Business Registration Certificate (3)Incorporation form NNC1 (4)Articles of Association. Don’t worry! All these documents are included in our incorporation package.
14. Does Get Started HK have Hong Kong practising CPAs?

15. Is offshore profit taxable by the Hong Kong local authority?
No. Offshore company profit is not taxable in Hong Kong. If the company intends to claim offshore status, the company shall ensure it has no customers, staff, or suppliers in Hong Kong.
16. What information is required for company formation?
You need to have a proposed company name, a copy of the director and shareholder’s passport and proof of address. To start, you can fill in our online application form.
